Essie have recently released a new collection called Slick Oilpaint. Now I honestly haven't seen too much about these (nor did I really look too much into them before buying them) but I thought why not give them a go. The collection contains three metallic shades and a transformative top coat. Now while I am sure they were designed with nail art in mind, I have done swatches of each of the polishes, both with and without the top coat as well as a comparison of what each polish looks like with and without the top coat so you can really see what is going on.
The formula across the three metallics is the same. They are easy to use and you can get away with one coat. If you have the Essie Mirror Metallics collection then you will know how these apply as they are the same. And yes they do stamp as well.
Over The Moon-stone is the transformative top coat. I am not entirely sure exactly what this top coat is meant to do. All I can tell is that it makes the metallic polish deepen slightly in colour and makes it overall look brighter.
Indigo To The Gallery is a metallic blue. My swatch shows two coats.

This collection doesn't excite me like I thought it would. It's good and I love that they polishes stamp (warning: Violet Auction stains your stamper), but I still don't fully understand the top coat. Maybe my expectations were too high. I was expecting some really magic, not just a slight colour change.
