Happened yesterday night (23rd December 2015), My BBM was flooded by Okoke fire Update, Considering that I am a blogger I was left with no option than rushing to the fire scene almost immediately to see what was happening myself, On getting there, Okeke female hostel was a disaster! I saw Fire, I mean REAL fire. (See photos below)
This is the worst fire incident in the university since I came into the school. The inexperienced fire service men were there trying their almighty best but they were totally helpless, For about 5 Hours they couldn't quench it, I left at about 11 PM.
This morning I visited the scene again to see what was happening. I saw The bishop of Nsukka Diases and some Rev fathers sympathizing with some students and some taking photos and frowning their faces, I also saw heavy smoke struggling to enter the two hundred series, Couple of students were rushing inside and bringing out there properties, others were crying and rolling on the ground; Such a pathetic situation One hungry looking man tried to stop me from taking photos, I don't know why but I didn't let him succeed. A total of 34 rooms were completely burnt down but the good news is that no life was lost.
